Maintenance

Since our products are manufactured with natural raw materials, colours and aspects may present some differences from one pallet to another. Therefore, you should take stones from different pallets while paving in order to obtain a good colour mix. In order to preserve the quality of your floor, the stones should be maintained on a regular basis and treated with our treatment products (according to the specified directions of use indicated in our “TREATMENT” products range). High-pressure cleaning : The maximum pressure when using such type of cleaner should not exceed 20 Bars. A higher pressure can have irreversible consequences on the stones. Defrosting salt and other products : Do not use defrosting salt. The use of some weed killers or fertilizers may cause stains (rust-like stains, etc.) on the surface of our stones. Covers : The permanent use of a bad ventilated covers on a swimming pool is not recommended. The enclosed atmosphere under the cover might accele- rate the ageing of the stones. The use of hydrochloride is strictly forbidden : This product can have irreversible consequences on the joints and stones.

Function

Protection against water stains and the development of micro-organismes responsibles of the blackening and dirtying of outside floors. The water on such waterproof treated floors will not penetrate and help the auto-cleaning.

Paving instructions

Coping : : The curbstones must be glued or bedded on the entire surface on a unique basis (chain bond or ground beam). Before paving, remove dust from the curbstones with a wire brush and moisten them underneath. The stones must be vigorously strengthened with a rammer or a white nylon hammer in order to bind them with the floor.
Joints : pose sur béton : le joint est réalisé uniquement avec le DALL'JOINT, Paving on a concrete floor : for the joint you should use only the SRBA stone powder mix called DALL'JOINT that you prepare while grounting. Use either a gauging trowel or jointer for pointing and finish with a trowel to smoothen the surface or a jointing tool to screed. DO NOT SPREAD THE JOINT PUTTY ON THE ENTIRE STONE SURFACE. All spilled putty must be cleaned immediately with clear water to avoid stains and make the surface of our products slippery. Jointing can only be done after drying and complete water evacuation of the support.
Edges: To ensure robust paving, we advise to make an abutment using curbstones.

Ground preparation

You should remove at least 20 cm of top soil from the natural ground and prepare the ground according to its characteristics. We advise you to place a felt layer (such as Bidim). The base slope should be the same as the finished ground (2 to 3% per meter) in order to facilitate runoff water evacuation. Paving on a sand bed : Not recommended because this method is not adapted for the stability and the correct ageing of our products. Paving on a concrete floor : The paving is done by double spread gluing (on the concrete floor and underneath the flagstones). Before paving, remove dust from the tiles by means of a wire brush and moisten the tiles underneath. The stones must be vigorously strengthened with a rammer or a white nylon hammer in order to bind them with the floor – French Standard NP61-2002-2 (DTU N. 52.1 Specifications concerning paving or bedded floors, and section 29). Our products are not designed for paving on studs. WARNING ! Make sure the pavement is fully dry before recovering with any covers or objects because some irreversible stains could appear.

Goods delivery

Vertical palletization. Warning : cutting the hooping of the products on a pallet may cause their fall. We advise to incline the pallet before cutting the bonds. First of all, check the items at delivery : all claims concerning the products' aspect must be made before laying. In any case, our responsibility is limited to the replacement of obvious defective products with exception of paving or removal costs. Aspect characteristics : extract from CERIB n° 236 "From man's height at an approximate distance of 2 meters and under normal lighting, no defects such as fissuring, deformation or wrenching should appear on our products".

MANUFACTURING

Since our products are manufactured from natural stone aggregates, their shades and colours may change when ageing. Therefore, we can not guarantee the colour changes that may appear in time, just like stones in their natural environment, while this has no impact on their quality. At the contrary, these different aesthetic aspects rather add a special charm to the stones. It is essential to combine stones from different pallets when paving in order to obtain a harmonious natural colour pattern. The SRBA Control Laboratory checks the raw materials' quality, as well as the whole manufacturing process from raw materials to finished products. There might be aspect differences between the showroom products and the recent manufactured ones.
